DAY 066: MAKING THE THRILLER FILM *****

Day 66 - man - the days go flashing by when one is hard at work.  Lovin' every minute of this though - I mean that. Received so many e-mails about the storyboard program - figured I'd do just a few more discussing them before heading onto other parts of pre-production I am currently also tackling - but - since I am smack in the middle of the

storyboard process - here are some more thoughts on this process of making a movie - I truly hope you can garner some info from them ;-)

Feel free to ask any questions - and I'll do my best to answer them ;-)

Also - I am including in all my posts from here on out - movies and/or scenes of movies that influenced me as a director/fan AND influenced my current movie filming this summer ;-)

I'm jus' sayin'
OKLAHOMA WARD

  1. Still impressed daily with how that storyboard is turning out - it's truly amazing what you can do. I can't wait to see it in it's entirety along with having the script in my hand. When DO I get the script anyway? *hint hint - wink nudge* hehehehe.

  2. I'll have to stop in on the weekend and watch that second video when I have time. That looks REALLY interesting in just the first 40 seconds.

That storyboard is insane. What an amazing amount of work, and man how it is going to pay off for you when you start shooting. Keep the videos coming. I almost feel guilty for saying that knowing how much work you've got going, but you said....

I'll be posting shortly about my short film and everyone can contrast the two stages of Indie filmmaking; you advanced and me breaking in. I've had a major change in the last week.

  4. Do I understand you can watch some of your storyboard work on a video? And if so, how do I do this?

  7. LOL Craig - Im looking forward to getting you on set during the build and test shooting to fine tune the look - can't wait to see what special ideas and tricks ya have in mind - lighting and the sense of claustrophobic spaces is a LARGE part of the movie ;-) Looking forward to the test shooting way before anyone shows up - I can barely sleep lol ;-)

  8. Okay you discovered my morning secret, the ole drinking bottle!! Didn't realize those were the videos you were referring to. Thought there were some others somewhere. Anyway just checking in this morning after the big storms swept thru OK. We were very lucky in our area as we were located in a small pocket between two bad storm areas. Very sorry for the people hit by storm and the unlucky ones who died or were injured. But being the selfish person I am, I was annoyed my 24 was not available for viewing. But life goes on without tv....at least for a while. How did IronMan II stand up? Equal, better or not as good as first Iron Man? What is the goal of storyboard days limit? Are you on schedule, and I'm sure you are? I read some of the technical posts and all the camera info is more than I want to know. lol Enjoy the actors tips and information. Keep up the good work!

  9. LOL - yeah the camera posts are for the crew side of the followers ;-) Iron Man 2 - I thought it was just as good as the fist one - tons of fun and action and laughter - what more could anyone want with a summer blockbuster movie - and one I'll see again when it hits DVD. Nikki loved it more than the first one - all I know is everyone in the theater cheered and clapped - so it seemed the audience too loved it and we saw it late SUnday after the big rush of fans hit the movie over the weekend. I've seen some great reviews and some bad - when I read the bad ones - I felt they were being way too lofty for a Summer Blockbuster movie - you want to see bad summer blockbuster - there is plenty out there - this is absolutely one fun ride!
